Pin it & Spin it: Gingerbread Men Candy Packets

Do you ever "forget" to pin something you've come across out on the web?  I do. Too many times.

Luckily, I remembered seeing this cute little project-I just can't remember where I saw it.  I'm fairly certain it's the creation of a fellow Arkansas Woman Blogger but I'm not sure who.  If it's your project let me know so I can give you proper credit!  {and thanks for the fun idea :) }

The {not} Pin:  Gingerbread candy packets.

The {not} Spin:  I didn't change up anything.

These guys are filled with gingerbread candies and would make adorable gifts for littles, or teachers {kids could easily make them with a little help}.

Here's what you need: A gingerbread man pattern {you can freehand one.  I can not draw or cut so I used my Cricut}. A paperbag.  An embroidery needle and some embroidery floss.  You can also use crochet thread or regular thread doubled.  To finish, you'll need some glue and glitter.

 Here's how you do it:

1.  Trace the pattern on the paperbag.
2. Cut it out!  You'll end up with two men.
3. Use the needle to pierce the stacked bag pieces so that you can sew them together.  Confession:  I have a double pronged punch that makes spacing and piercing super easy.
4.  Start sewing from the bottom up, over the top and back under again.  Sew all the way around the body but not all the way around the head just yet.

Before you finish sewing up the head, fill the gingerbread guy with small candies.  I used Gingerbread M&Ms {they taste SO good}.

Once you're done filling him up, finish stitching and knot behind the last hole. We're ready to decorate! Dot glue for eyes, buttons, and don't forget the smile!

Sprinkle with glitter, tap off the excess, and enjoy!
